Join the Good Neighbor Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC)
We are launching the Good Neighbor Neighborhood Advisory Council (NAC) to guide our work in 2026. We partnered with many neighborhood groups to launch SF Good Neighbor Week in 2025 and would like to formalize and expand our partnerships with neighborhood groups and community leaders in 2026.
(Note from Julia: I usually operate on a 1:1 level and have been in close touch with many neighborhood leaders individually to make 2025 SF Good Neighbor Week a success. For 2026 I’m trying to bring the group together a bit more, rather than relying on my individual coffees and lunches with all of you. This isn’t just to save me time— it’s also in response to neighborhood leaders wanting to meet each other and share ideas, and therefore elevate our work.)
The goal of the Neighborhood Advisory Council in 2026 is to help guide and execute 2026 SF Good Neighbor Week, Sep 26- Oct 4, 2026.
This is a volunteer group that will meet for one hour every two months, either on Zoom or in person, to prepare for 2026 SF Good Neighbor Week. We will focus on three topics:
Helping guide the 2026 SF Good Neighbor Awards: updating the nomination form, getting the word out to residents, and celebrating the winners, in a way that reflects and resonates with your neighborhood.
Helping guide the 2026 SF Good Neighbor Week events: getting your neighborhood events on the 2026 SF Good Neighbor Week calendar and perhaps planning collaborative events with other organizations.
Helping advise Good Neighbor Lab: in 2026, we will be seeking your input on how to deepen neighborhood connections with local public schools, as well as how to reach residents experiencing more social isolation.
Benefits of joining the Good Neighbor NAC:
Be part of a city-wide effort to elevate our wonderful neighborhoods
Meet other neighborhood leaders and exchange ideas
Learn about funding opportunities for your neighborhood (for example, some neighborhood groups were able to secure grants to celebrate their Good Neighbor Award Winners with big parties this year, and others had to keep it scrappy. Let’s share the love in 2026.)
If you live in San Francisco and are interested in representing your neighborhood and helping guide our work, please sign up below. Current neighborhood and merchant group leaders are encouraged to join, as are interested residents who are not currently connected to a neighborhood group. We are aiming to have representation from every neighborhood in San Francisco.
